AARMY’s work now features in the latest National Audit Project (NAP6: Perioperative Anaphylaxis) – the largest ever prospective study of anaphylaxis related to anaesthesia and surgery.

As quoted in NAP6, “Anaphylaxis is a severe, life-threatening generalised hypersensitivity reaction and is one of the most hazardous emergencies encountered in the perioperative
setting. Despite its importance, there is limited published information on UK anaesthetists’ perspectives and experiences of perioperative anaphylaxis. A recent multicentre audit suggested that these patients were not being appropriately referred for investigation (Savic 2015).

It’s is great recognition to all those involved in AARMY’s inaugural publication. It not only helps promote collaborative research, but enhances AARMY’s reputation on a national scale.

Keep up the good work everyone! #teamanaesthesia
